About
Learn more about UC Davis' Commitment to the U.N.'s Sustainable Development Goals
An ambitious set of 17 global goals, the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) were adopted by all UN member states in 2015, laying out a framework to end poverty, rescue the planet, and build a peaceful world, while calling for all sectors of society to achieve these goals by 2030. UC Davis students, faculty, and staff are already addressing all 17 UN SDGs in the U.S. and across more than 70 countries around the world.
To support these goals and our university’s role as a public, land-grant institution, UC Davis plans to complete a campuswide SDG Voluntary University Review (VUR) in 2021. UC Davis' Global Affairs, Sustainability, and Diversity, Equity and Inclusion offices are spearheading this effort.
Similar to Voluntary National Reviews, which governments around the world pursue to share experiences, strengthen policies and institutions, and mobilize stakeholders and partnerships to accelerate implementation of the SDG Agenda, universities can pursue Voluntary University Reviews (VURs).
What you can do
We hope that you will share some brief information on your work toward any of the 17 SDGs – whether through teaching, research, service or campus operations. Collecting this information will ensure that the UC Davis VUR accurately reflects the depth and breadth of UC Davis commitment to the SDG Agenda. The information that you provide will also help us find ways to connect your work with other SDG efforts on campus, and support collaboration and funding opportunities.
