Practice Greenhealth recognizes UC Davis Health as ‘Top 25 Most Sustainable Hospitals’ in country
Practice Greenhealth has recognized UC Davis Health as a national leader in environmental sustainability for the fourth year.
“This is the highest level of national recognition we can receive for leadership in sustainability, and I am incredibly proud that we continue to be recognized with this distinction,” said Kristina Bair, sustainability director.
The recognition includes five Circle of Excellence awards, which honor the top 10 highest-performing hospitals in the United States across specific categories of environmental sustainability in health care. This year, UC Davis Health received leadership awards for:
- Circle of Excellence – Greening the OR
- Circle of Excellence – Food
- Circle of Excellence – Water
- Circle of Excellence – Transportation
- Circle of Excellence – Green Building
Bair specifically applauded teams in OR, Food and Nutrition Services, Plant Operations and Maintenance, Parking and Transportation, and Facilities, Planning and Development.
“This recognition reflects our commitment to sustainability, our drive to advance initiatives that have never been done before, and our ability to achieve meaningful results as leaders in environmental excellence,” she said. “It is made possible by the many dedicated staff members who roll up their sleeves every day to create real impact throughout our operations.
